Junior GIS (Geographical Information systems) Database Engineer

We are currently working in partnership with our key client who is a global provider of cutting edge digital mapping and wireless solutions for their customers around the world.

They are now seeking a Junior Database Engineer/Specialist to join their GIS team in Jakarta, Indonesia. You will be responsible for the technical content and quality of the GIS/ mapping database and acts as the main point of contact for the database release process.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Technical development of the GIS database using ArcGIS, ArcMap etc , i.e. specifications, implementation, Quality control and Quality assurance
  • Ensuring the preparation, coordination, implementation and control of the overall registration and release of the database
  • Managing and executing database analysis projects
  • Coordinating the preparation, updating and release of database release notes
  • Performing database audit on projects

Requirements:

  • Degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Cartography, IT development
  • 6 months to 1 year’s related work experience in GIS database development
  • Experience in ArcGIS, ArcMap and knowledge in GDF (Geographic data files) software an advantage
  • Able to travel for projects and training as required within Indonesia and internationally
  • Strong verbal and written skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia
  • Possess valid driver’s licence
  • Highly independent and be able to work with little supervision
  • Self starter and able to thrive under pressure
