Junior GIS (Geographical Information systems) Database Engineer

We are currently working in partnership with our key client who is a global provider of cutting edge digital mapping and wireless solutions for their customers around the world.

They are now seeking a Junior Database Engineer/Specialist to join their GIS team in Jakarta, Indonesia. You will be responsible for the technical content and quality of the GIS/ mapping database and acts as the main point of contact for the database release process.

Your key responsibilities include:

Technical development of the GIS database using ArcGIS, ArcMap etc , i.e. specifications, implementation, Quality control and Quality assurance
Ensuring the preparation, coordination, implementation and control of the overall registration and release of the database
Managing and executing database analysis projects
Coordinating the preparation, updating and release of database release notes
Performing database audit on projects

Requirements:

Degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Cartography, IT development
6 months to 1 year’s related work experience in GIS database development
Experience in ArcGIS, ArcMap and knowledge in GDF (Geographic data files) software an advantage
Able to travel for projects and training as required within Indonesia and internationally
Strong verbal and written skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia
Possess valid driver’s licence
Highly independent and be able to work with little supervision
Self starter and able to thrive under pressure
