GIS Specialist (National) Post Date: 02 Jul 08

Duties and Responsibilities :

*Support implementation of SDI
*Spatial data management
*Quality map production using ESRI GIS products
*Work with provincial government agencies to build their capacityto use spatial information
*GIS and GPS training
*Develop and manage geodatabase and enter new information
*Develop simple web mapping applications for internal use at BRR and local government agencies
*GIS support to BRR offices in the Districts
*Other duties as directed by Senior Management

Reporting to: The Manager, SIM-Centre

Qualifications / Experience :

*Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, GIS or other relevant field or equivalent
*Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience
*Experience working with high resolution imagery
*Proven experience developing map products
*Practical experience with ESRI GIS products and MS Access
*Experience with web mapping applications and geodatabases
*Understanding of SDI and OGC standards
*Ability to use GPS equipment
*Ability to work with minimal supervision in multi-cultural environment
*Ability to write clearly and concisely in English
*Must be prepared to travel around north Sumatra

Location: Banda Aceh

Duration: 12 months
